ABOUT

WELCOME!

Hi, I'm Jill.   I was born and raised in California.  After 6 years on the East Coast, I  now live in the San Francisco Bay Area with my husband and two daughters.

I am the author of this sewing and crafting blog, entitled Snugglebug University.  I also recently started a totally new design and art endeavor, which you can see more of at my website.  My art is a combination of photography and classical art methods (watercolor, colored pencils, pastels).

So what is Snugglebug University?

It's just a fun tittle (and I'm actually trying to move more towards just using my name these days, but I don't quite have everything switched over yet.).  No, this blog isn't a degree granting institution, ya, know, in case that needed to be stated.  I used 'university' for a a reason, though.  I've spent most of my life in school, which ended when I graduated with a PhD in the biological sciences in 2010.When I started this blog several years ago I named the blog after my two darling little girls--my snugglebugs.

Even though I'm not working in a university anymore, I love learning and I hope to impart that love to my kids.  I hope this blog provides you with a place to learn a new technique, a lovely pattern to try out, or inspiration for a great new project!  My grandmother taught me to sew when I was a little girl, and I've loved sewing since.  I love to design new patterns--often inspired by my kids.

I am thrilled to have you join us on our journey!
