Make a Multi-Layered Skirt (with Tulle!)

Hi all!

Have you seen a lot of tulle skirts in the stores lately?  When my kids and I were doing back to school shopping I came across so many different ones, and my kids and I thought they were so cute!  The girls requested some skirts, and we made two different varieties.

The one above is my tutorial for Make It and Love It, but I'm going to show you  another variation today too...It's the one I made for Lu's 7th birthday

It's very similar to the version for make it and love it, except that there is about half as much tulle, and there is an additional cotton (rainbow polka dots!!!) on the top of the other layers.

Just like the skirt from Make It and Love It, the bottom layer protects the girls legs from the scratchiness of the tulle.

Want to make your own?  I'll show you how!

For this size 7 skirt I used about 2 yards of tulle, 2/3 yard of the solid pink cotton fabric and a yard of the rainbow polka dots.

Most all of the instructions are the same as for the Make it and Love It Skirt, except for the polka dot layer.  Go ahead and gather it up...

And then sew it to all of the other layers, after you've adjusted the gathers to be the same size as the waist band.

Sew up the side seam.

Then fit it inside the waistband and sew the waistband on, just as I showed you in the Make It and Love It tutorial.

And then you are finished!

Hope you all are having a great week!

XOXO,
Jill
