The Book Buddy Pattern

I'm so excited to share with you my very first REAL pattern, the book buddy.  Now don't get me wrong, I've done templates before.  And printables too.  But nothing like this.  This guy is a whopping 17 pages of illustrations and detailed instructions.  This is a real, honest-to-goodness pattern, and I hope you like it!

This little guy--a hamster--nestles into his little book bed, complete with a little pillow.  He's made mostly of felt.  His ears are printed with a graphic design that is included in the pattern. You can use the design I included to print on printable fabric sheets, or you can use another fabric of your choice. The pattern includes tips and general instructions for carving out your book as well.

As a kid I was totally mesmerized by little things.  I loved stories about little people and animals that used human leftovers and discards.  As far as rodents go, hamsters were always my favorite.  I never owned one, but I loved our elementary school class hamsters, even when they showed me that cruelty of biology.  There was just something about hamsters and their cute chubby cheeks that made my heart melt.  I know I would have been thrilled to discover this little guy in a book as a kid.  As an adult, I appreciate the fact that he can stay in his home right alongside all the rest of the books on my bookshelf, and no one would be the wiser.

This pattern is intended for the home sewer.  If you would like to make book buddies and sell them, whether it be at a craft booth or personal online shop, you are welcome to use this pattern as long as you credit Snugglebug University for the design (no mass production though, please). If you have any questions please just contact me.

You can purchase this pattern For a short time this pattern is FREE in my pattern shop, or you can purchase it in my Etsy shop.  Happy sewing everyone!
